Whew! Five straight grueling days of racing and Maria just keeps doing her thing and hey, it is paying off! With only one day left, Maria showed she's got the fortitude, patience, and consistent speed to keep riding her way to the top. Some analogy of creme rising or something like that keeps coming to mind. :) Maria again blasted her way to 2nd on the day, which erased the gap of over 1min 30 sec on 2nd place that she had accumulated by the end of day 3. Erasing that gap in just two days, with everyone riding well, is just plain awesome! However, there is still one last hurdle to jump and the scores remain really close! Tomorrow's big hurdle is the motocross test. That's not Maria's specialty like some of the girls but she is very capable of putting in some smoking lap times! I know she can whip me! haha! Check out the unofficial cummulative scores after Day 5... Â Just In! ;) Cherryl (Maria's mother) just called. She said Maria says todays course was a lot more fun than what they've been riding. No big stories to tell, except that Amanda Mastin's mousse insert came out and she had to stop at a check and put in a tube. Maria's day was pretty uneventful as far as drama goes. Cherryl said that everything is pretty rushed this evening. Since they have to have the crate all packed up right after the completion of the last test tomorrow, they are all scurrying around to get as much packed tonight as they can. And to make things a little more stressful on the women's team, the women's cup moto is the very last test of day 6. That puts the women's team a little behind the loading curve, so Cherryl said it might be tough to call tomorrow. She also said that the moto test is supposed to be on live tv and maybe we could find it on the internet.
