| Maria's Ends WORCS Season On The Podium with a 2nd Place Finish! |

Barely off the plane from Portugal on Monday Maria had only four days to readjust her internal clock and catch a plane to Las Vegas Friday evening, then drive to Mesquite to compete in her final WORCS race under contract with RPM Racing Team (yep, still with RPM and KTM for 2010 but moving to GNCC). "I didn't feel too well at all the first couple of days but by Thursday I felt a whole lot better," Maria said Thursday afternoon. Then on her way to the airport Friday evening, Maria got rear-ended while driving in her mother's car! Obviously, it was a tuff start to the weekend! However, Maria was able to hold it together and ended up doing well in Mesquite with a 2nd place finish behind series points leader Kacy Martinez, leaving Maria in 3rd place for the series championship. All-in-all it was a great finish to a year stopped cold by an elbow injury that took her out of competition for over 13 weeks! She was just fortunate to be able to return in August and do so well for the rest of the season. The trip home to Seattle was just as quick with Maria returning Saturday afternoon just after finishing her race. Thankfully, the return trip was pretty much uneventful!
