Maria, piloting her RPM/Factory KTM, tore, tractored, and blazed her way through the Tennesee mud to another remarkable GNCC win. Remarkable because she took the top spot by nearly 8 minutes ahead of her closests competitor. To make the win even more remarkable, she won placing 5th overall, including the men's classes!  I spoke to Maria for a few minutes Sunday evening. "So muddy but so much fun!" That's the way Maria described the race. "It was really nice all day but it rained so much the few days before the race that it was really muddy." she said. Maria went on to say, "I was just having so much fun! I bet the bike weighed an extra hundred pounds. It was so heavy with all the mud stuck to it! With all the mud, It's the first time I've been really tired afterward." Tired or not, I'm sure I don't have to tell you (but I will anyway), Maria was really excited and happy with the Race.  The win puts Maria 2 pts ahead of Mandi Mastin in the series championship points battle with Maria acheiving 4 wins in 5 races. The season is shaping up to be a battle of speed but mostly of consistency. While Maria has taken some commanding wins, Mandi Mastin is hanging tough right on Maria's heels in the points race. At just 2 pts back, anything can and probably will happen in a long 13 round season full of just about every condition you can imagine. Out of all the conditions, It's the mud holes that are really scary! Those suckers can swallow your bike for what seems like forever. Get caught in one of those and your race is most likely over as you find the competition learning from your mistake and motoring by while you're left behind to wallow in frustration!  Stay tuned!
