"The Hardest Race I've Ever Done," Says Maria After 6th Straight GNCC Win

Mud, rain, ruts... what else would you expect from a GNCC race in Ohio?

I was in Idaho City all weekend fighting the mud and ruts myself, so I was out of cell and internet service for the whole weekend and wasn't able to follow the race live. Geez, talk about feeling out of touch! I did however get about 5 voice mails instantly as I gained cell service Sun night, one of which was from Maria's dad, John Forsberg. He and Maria were in Chicago waiting for their connecting flight home but wanted to let me know Maria did really well. Well. That's an understatement! She did AWESOME, taking her RPM/Factory KTM to another win by over 12 minutes over second place! In "the hardest race she's ever done," according to John, Maria held it together and notched up another victory. I've also read that this win actually iced the Women' GNCC Championship for Maria, but I want to confirm that before I say that officially. I'll let you know as I get more details.

Maria Steps Into Familiar Territory and Takes Win At 1st Round of Worcs Week

Back home on familiar territory yesterday at Straddeline ORV Park just outside Olympia WA, Maria took her familiar place on the WORCS podium.

What are champions made of?

Mud, rain, ruts... what else would you expect from a GNCC race in Ohio?

Maria's RPM/Factory KTM carries her to her fifth straight victory Sunday morning at Moose Mountain Ridge, PA. I just did hear from Maria!

What a year! Four straight GNCC wins with five wins in six races so far this season. If you're a fan of Maria, you've gotta love the way the season is going for her.

Maria, piloting her RPM/Factory KTM, tore, tractored, and blazed her way through the Tennesee mud to another remarkable GNCC win.

So Much Fun! That’s how Maria described KTM Photo Week and the AMA End of Season Awards Banquet.

So Cool! I have set up this little notifier on google that notifies me any time news is posted on the internet with Maria's name in the title. I was so excited to find a notice telling me that Maria has been nominated to be the AMA's female racer of the year for 2009 for her performance at the International Six Days Enduro in Portugal!

I know the holidays are busy for everyone but that is my excuse for being a little late telling you about Maria and our trip to the 2009 Endurocross final in Las Vegas this past November 21st. We had a great time this year, as we always do! Maria's mother Cherryl and I drove down with the travel trailer on Tuesday and Wednesday. Maria flew down on Thursday evening with her boyfriend and her father and his friend.

Barely off the plane from Portugal on Monday Maria had only four days to readjust her internal clock and catch a plane to Las Vegas Friday evening,

Six Days is over! I can hardly believe it! The 2009 International Six Days Enduro is now in the books and Maria...

Day 5 - Woohoo! Maria Muscles Her Way Into 2nd Place!

Whew! Five straight grueling days of racing and Maria just keeps doing her thing and hey, it is paying off!

After two days of blasting shoulder deep sand whoops and running a dark poorly lit tunnel, Maria cranks out an awesome day

It's still early but after 4 special tests Maria has already gained on Jonsson in the number two spot and pulled a little more of a gap on 4th place.

Maria had a wonderful time in Indianapolis with her boyfriend George at Dealer Expo 2009 this past weekend.

Just a few short hours ago, just after midnight Friday morning, Maria and her boyfriend George landed in Indianapolis, Indiana to attend the 2009 Motorcycle Dealer Expo representing Maxxis Tires.
